Chef Blue!

Post by Alexander Meadows on Sun Jan 12, 2014 12:02 pm

Alright, so fun fact about me: I really like cooking.

No, really like cooking.

I'm going to school for it. I seriously love making food. One of my chef instructors told us (and the others are more than happy to remind) that good food is one of the only things in the world to consistently make people happy. On a bit of my own personal quest, in intend to not just graduate this program but retake it as many times as I am able.

So, today, I wanted to ask: what do you guys like to eat? Not snacks, per say, but meal wise? Any recipes to share? Food related: put it here!

My favorite food is any thing sea food related. Fish, crab, octopus, sushi, clam, shrimp, eel, I love it all. I will never ever ever try a buffer fish though because of the huge health risks.

When we did Seafood last semester, Chef touched on Blowfish with us. Basically, Puffer Fish, even when cut and cooked correctly still hold a tiny amount of their potent poison in their body (its impossible to cook toxins out of food).

Supposedly, if you eat part of a puffer fish that was cut properly you'll still feel your mouth tingle as though it was going numb!
